Mr. Ken Kemmerer founded BSBI in 2004.  He recently retired from the Muhlenberg School District where he taught instrumental music for 32 years.  While at Muhlenberg he directed the bands at Muhlenberg Elementary Center and C. E. Cole Intermediate School.  He also was the Assistant Director for the MHS Marching Blue Band, and directed the pit orchestra for the spring musical productions.

Mr. John Evans has been a band director in Berks County for 30 years and has been teaching in the Muhlenberg School District for 22 years. He is also president of the Music Educators of Berks County.

Mr. Nathan Mohler has been a music educator for 14 years and has been teaching band at Muhlenberg HS for the past 5 years. Nate is a Berks native, having grown up in Kutztown.

Mr. A.J. Evans teaches elementary band in the Muhlenberg school district. He has been a BSBI intern for 3 years, and is excited to join the BSBI staff this year!

Mr. Michael Bagenstose, percussion assistant, is a Music Education student at Kutztown University majoring in Percussion.  Mr. Bagenstose has taught our percussion students for many years.

BSBI also runs a college intern program which gives music education majors an opportunity to enhance their teaching skills.
